The Little One

A small guitar with a short 24.25" fret board scale length based on Gibson 1926 L0 model (with some
structural and tonal design enhancements)

Gibson's 1920's flat top L series is perhaps best known for being the type of guitar pictured w Robert
Johnson in the only known photo of him with a guitar.  Sources say that this is not the guitar he made his
famous recording with.  Conventional wisdom is that it was a Kalamazoo  KG-14.  This guitar is reminiscent
of the tone on those recordings though. Its short scale and responsive/easily overdriven top lends itself
nicely to finger style blues and the type of multi octave chords sometime played by Johnson..

Johnson's pictured guitar appears to be an L1 model which likely had an x braced top, and perhaps a
radiused fret board, truss rod and longer scale length on the neck/fretboard.  It is difficult to know the exact
specifications.  Gibson's catalog "Q" from around 1928 gives us clues, and surviving examples of early L
style flattops demonstrate multiple design modifications over a short period of time in these legendary
Gibson guitars.

The version offered by Collin Riley is highly responsive, with a flat fret board radius and "H" style bracing
pattern.  With a short 24.25" fret board scale and resulting lower string tension, we find this top bracing and
neck, (containing no truss rod or stiffener), to be stable.  Collin's version features structural enhancements in
the bracing, tucking braces at linings and intersections.  The top and back are hand thicknessed (variable
thicknessing for optimum tone).   12 frets clear of the body, 18 frets total.

The Middle One

Ideal for finger style and/or vocal accompaniment

Based on a 1930's Gibson L00, with some modification, t"The Middle One"  is ideally suited for finger style
and light to medium pick attack.  Longer neck scale (24.
625") for tighter feel, and consequently a more
structurally robust "X-braced" top, and truss rod reinforced neck.  These enhancements coupled with a larger
soundboard, (specifically in the lower bout), enhance lower-midrange tones for superb vocal
accompaniment.

Price is $1125. with hardshell case plus actual shipping costs and sales tax for California residents.

The Big One

A large guitar designed for powerful rhythm, lead picking and full bodied vocal accompaniment.

Based (mostly) on a 1940's Gibson J45,  this large bodied guitar has mid range to spare with a haunting
bottom end and subtle sparkle.  It features all premium construction methods like X braced top, truss rod in
custom hand profiled neck.  This guitar shines on percussive rhythm work, flat picked lead playing.  Meant for
a dynamic range of attack where heavy picking and volume without overdrive are desired.

Price is $1225. with hardshell case, plus actual shipping costs and sales tax for California residents.
